Where are you located?


We are located in Ashley, Ohio on Route 229 just 2 miles East of Route 42. We are conveniently located to Delaware and surrounding communities. We have a Map and Directions page to help you.

What kind of security do you have?


229 Storage takes great pride in protecting your belongings. Our entire facility is fenced and well-lit at night. We feature electronic gate with coded access. All inside units only accept our high security cylinder locks. And we live right by the facility and make frequent trips around the premises.

Can anybody drive onto this property or do you need a PIN number?


We have an electronic gate system which can only be opened by a security code that is assigned to each individual tenant. Once a tenant leaves, the security code is deactivated. Each entering and exiting of the facility is tied to an active security code.

What are the hours I am able to access my unit?


You have access to your unit 7 days a week. The gate hours are 5am – 11pm daily, additional hours by request.

What sizes are available and how do I pick my size?


We offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate your needs. Sizes range from 5×5(25 square feet) to 12×40(480 square feet). Determining the right size is easy with the help of our Sizes and Prices page which will help you visualize how big each unit size is and what it can hold. If you have difficulty, call us. Do you offer outside vehicle parking/storage?


229 Storage offers parking for cars, truck, trailers, RVs, and boats. All outside storage is on a stone surface. All outside spaces are fully enclosed in the facility’s security fencing and access gates. A discount is available to customers with both an inside unit and outside space. Do you have climate control units?


Climate controlled units maintain a temperature of 55 to 85 degrees. We do not offer climate control at this time.

What are your rates?


Our rates vary depending on size and type. Please check out our Reserve A Unit Page which also shows current availability.

Do you accept credit cards?


We accept several major credit cards, including MasterCard® and Visa®.

How can I reserve a unit?


To assure that the space you require is waiting for you, we are pleased to accept reservations. A reservation can be made online through our Reserve A Unit page or calling us at (740) 524-2111.

How long will it take to complete my rental transaction?


Completing the rental transaction can be done when you move in. On average, it only takes about 15 minutes to set up your account, create and activate you individual gate code, and get you ready to move in to your unit.

What is needed to rent a storage space?


Completing the rental of a space with 229 Storage must be done in-person by the individual who is renting (the account will be in their name). Be sure to have following information: mailing address, e-mail address, date of birth, two phone numbers, a valid driver’s license (or other government issued I.D.), Social Security Number(last 4 digits), an emergency contact person. For outside storage, the complete vehicle information and a copy of the title is needed. An initial payment of the one full month’s rent and $25 security deposit is made at the time of rental.

Do I get a lock when I rent a unit?


Yes, if you are renting an inside space, 229 Storage provides a high security cylinder lock for you. Do not worry about finding a lock to use. It is provided to you.

Can I move my things to a different size unit after I have already moved in?


If the unit size you want is available, then yes you can move into another unit. Just call us and we will be able to assist you in that transition.

What is the minimum rental commitment?


229 Storage has a one-month minimum rental commitment. All spaces operate on a month-to-month basis; however, you can “move out” whenever you want. After your first month’s rent, should you happen to move out, we will pro-rate your rent so long as we have been given a 30 day advance notice of your move out.

What are the lease terms?


Our units are rented on a month-to-month basis. Your rental with us can be long or short – depending on your needs. Monthly rent is due by the 1st of each month. For your convenience we offer many payment options including the option to prepay for up to twelve months. When you are ready to vacate, advise the rental office 15 days notice before vacating.

Do you offer the convenience of a long term lease?


Our units are rented on a month-to-month basis which allows customers the flexibility to rent for whatever time period is needed.

Can I make a payment over the phone?


Yes, you can. Our customers have a variety of payment options. See our Payment Options page for more information.

Is my initial rate guaranteed for as long as I rent my storage unit?


Although we do not guarantee that your rent will never go up, we strive to keep rates as low as possible for our customers. Our business plan is not just getting you in at a low rate then raising it. We do, at times, offer a new customer a discount from the regular rate for a couple months, after which time you will pay the regular rate. You will know up-front the discount, number of discount months, and the regular rate – no surprises. We may, at times, need to make adjustments to our rates due to business conditions. We strive to keep a personal relationship with our customers.

Does 229 Storage provide insurance for my stuff?


While we take protection and security very seriously, we do not insure your belongings. Insurance is not required, but it’s highly recommended. At this time we do not offer any insurance. We suggest that you check with the insurance agent that insures your home, rental house, or business premise to see what coverage that policy may offer, or to obtain additional coverage for your belongings in storage. If you do not have insurance you are considered self insured.

Do you allow other activities to be conducted on your facility or in your units?


Our storage units are only for storing your belongings. We do not allow bands to practice in our units or at our facilities. No automobile work is to be done here nor any other kind work. Law prohibits anyone from staying in a unit or vehicle overnight.

Do you offer rental or move-in trucks?


We do not currently offer any truck rental.
