Moving Out

Notify of Move-Out

You are required to give 30 days notice before vacating a unit or space.  The move out date on the lease is an estimate not a commitment. You may stay as long as you need the space; just keep paying the rent. Whenever you are preparing to leave, give us notice.

Click Move Out Notice Form to get the form, print it, then fill it out and send it to 229 Storage.

Move-Out Questions

What do I need to do when I move out?

On your scheduled move-out day:

  • Make sure the unit is completely empty and broom swept clean
  • Make sure that your lock has been removed and set inside the unit with all the keys
  • Close and latch the unit door
  • Please, let us know that you are out so you won’t be charged further rent.

What happens if I leave items in my space that I don’t want?

Any items in your space are your responsibility. Please remove all items. Rent is due until your space is empty and unlocked. If the unit is unlocked with items left inside, we must charge you for removal and disposal.

Why I am still being charged for a space that I’ve vacated?

Most often it is either because; the unit was found locked after the planned vacate date, or the space is still occupied with some belongings.
If you believe there is a mistake, please contact us by phone at (740)524-2111.
